Suk Hong, a rising post-classical composer based in Seoul, takes center stage with the release of "Three Movements For The Play Deprived" (UNSLS025).

Crafted with meticulous detail, Hong's six minute debut single on unseelie blends orchestral grandeur with hypermodern sound design in a style reminiscent of James Ferraro, Oneohtrix Point Never or György Ligeti. The song stitches a glitchy spider web of fragmented textures made on Suk's laptop with incidental silences, creating a mesmerizing auditory experience. With its thematic focus on the paradoxical comfort found in discomfort, "Three Movements For The Play Deprived" is a testament to Hong's ability to capture the hidden magic within the mundane.

This narrative is further brought to life by a detailed triptych depicting Suk in a futuristic Korean "BODYFRIEND" massage chair, enveloped by a nightmarish swarm of dancers below an opalescent dancefloor protected by Pegasus. The artwork was painted by renowned visual artist Dian Liang, best known this year for their covers for caro♡ and Holly Waxing (PC Music). "Three Movements For The Play Deprived" is a compelling addition to unseelie's catalog as 2023 comes to a close.
